Joan Learn

 

Joan is President of Learn Career Options, LLC.  Her firm focuses on helping individuals - especially baby boomers- develop their next career option or a portfolio of options. She and her team provide a series of unique assessments to start the Career Options Process and then coach individuals on how to obtain their targeted goals. Joan also recently became certified as a Retirement Options Coach to help individuals plan for a rewarding life in their retirement years.

Prior to Learn Career Options, she was the General Manager for the Connecticut office of The Ayers Group, a global career transition and executive coaching firm, for 15 years from 1998 to 2013. She marketed their services to clients in the Tri-State area. She also worked with many individuals in helping them transition into meaningful and rewarding careers .

 

Her previous position was a Senior Vice President with New Directions, a Boston-based Career Management firm (1997-1998) that specializes in working with senior executives in transition.

 

From 1986 through 1995, Joan was President/CEO of The Greenwich Group in Greenwich, Connecticut, a Career Management firm she founded. The firm was nationally acclaimed for its’ innovative services. It was the first firm to provide personal computers for every candidate and further differentiated its’ services by providing both the traditional job search program and also an entrepreneurial program for those interested in starting a business.

 

She began her career in the industry with a small boutique outplacement firm in New York City in 1980. In the 4 years that she was there, she was responsible for increasing their client base by over 80%. Previously she was employed by IBM Corporation in the Personnel Department at their Endicott, New York facility.

 

Joan has been quoted in many publications such as Forbes, Fortune, Wall Street Journal, and Fairfield Business Journal regarding career issues. She has an associate’s degree in business and a BS in Psychology.

 

Joan is a founding member and current Co-President of the Southern CT/Westchester Chapter of the Association of Career Professionals International (ACP International.)  She is a member of ATD (Association of Training and Development) and also served on the Advisory Council of Habitat for Humanity in CT.  She is currently a member of Greater Sarasota Coaching Alliance.

Joan has an office in downtown Sarasota to work with local clients and works remotely with individuals throughout the US and globally.
